The committee managing this foundation: who are we?

F.l.t.r. : Anne Pieters, Ida Eikenaar, Margriet Hoogeveen, Rutger Hoogeveen, Ina van Dijk
We are a group of six people living in the Netherlands, and we all share the same ambition: to raise money for the under privileged children in a small village in central India. Our foundation operates in joined cooperation with mr Prabhat Mani Mishra, the teacher and soul founder of the Kashi Mandir school.
Together, we can achieve our objectives and deliver a fully operational school for the young children of Old-Khajuraho in the near future. Our aim is to provide the school with the same equipment that you would normally associate with any well-equipped international school.
The continuing funding is vitally important to keep alive this wonderful and exiting school and its foundation. Apart from this any interest and subsidy from the local government in Madhya Pradesh will be another aim to achieve.
When you have a look on the fotopages you may have an impression of what has been paid with the first amount of € 250.
Members of the present group are Rutger and Margriet Hoogeveen, Ina van Dijk, Gerrie Veer and Anne Pieters, with the assistance of our designer and webmaster Hiske van Dijk and our advisor and coach language and culture Shilpa Samplonius. These people are all not-payed volunteers. Only necessary costs made for the fullfillment of the statutory goals can be restituted if a volunteer wants this.
Our mission
Our mission has been written down in the statutes of the foundation and registered in the Chamber of Commerce. Together with our personal motivation this means practically for the daily work :
-
These children are our ‘guests’, because we believe it is a good idea to do something positive in this world;
-
We believe that education is the key to development: in Europe and in India as well. We join the second UN-millennium-goal: All boys and girls to school! And we help to drive back child-labour at the same time.
-
We can not help the whole world but we think it is a very much effective way of helping directly on a small scale with what is possible;
-
It makes sense : If we are able to help only one child , give him a good and proper education , he will have a better start in life than his parents ever had. Till now we helped already much more children than one!
-
Make the difference between a life with or without a view to the future;
-
We think: supporting a small project without a big money-spending organisation is very effective. We hope others do agree and want to support us;
-
We are also motivated by an old Chinese saying: Give a man a fish and he can eat, give him a fishing-rot and he will be able to feed himself for his whole life.
